About the Opportunity

The purpose of this position is to provide the overall maintenance of health care records in accordance with NSW Health Policy. This position works with confidential information and requires a high level of knowledge and commitment to current privacy laws and legislation to guard against loss, misuse and inappropriate access.
If this position is worked as a part time / job share role, it is the expectation that staff will backfill each other for periods of planned leave and also have the ability to cover periods of unplanned leave when required.

About Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD)

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) spans over 125,000 square kilometres across southern New South Wales, stretching from the Snowy Mountains in the east to the plains of Hillston in the northwest and all the way along the Victorian border. Griffith Base Hospital is a 119 bed facility with 100 hospital care beds and 10 maternity beds. Each year we support approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 600 births. We provide a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) with 15 ED spaces supported by an Intensive Care Unit and is also equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Griffith with specialists across the NSW Critical Care Advisory Service. A $250 million redevelopment of the Griffith Base Hospital is underway. Main works features the new Acute Services Building, which will be built to the north of the existing main hospital building and will include: - A new emergency department - New services including Aged Care and Rehabilitation beds - New operating theatres - Medical imaging - Outpatient care to include expanded – renal, oncology, Hospital in the Home, clinics and outpatient rehabilitation gym - A clinical link to the adjoining private hospital.
