The Gem Hotel is currently seeking an energetic and motivated to join our team as a Cellar & Maintenance Attendant. 

As the Cellar & Maintenance Attendant you will assist and support hotel operations by leading the daily Cellar Operations in conjunction with the Hotel Manager.  You will be responsible for maintaining the cellar and all service areas, beverage systems, transfer stock between departments and venues, ordering and receiving stock, and maintaining a clean and safe cellar area. 

You will be responsible for determining and maintaining stock levels in the various bars, bottle shop and cellar to meet customer service needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the cellar ensuring it is well presented, clean, tidy, and well stocked including loading docks, sheds, and all service areas
  • Be responsible for carrying out repairs and maintaining a proactive preventative maintenance program, throughout the property. Repairs will include basic carpentry and plumbing, fixtures and fittings (adjusting, replacing)
  • Liaise with the Front Office team to log and complete maintenance tasks related to accommodation rooms and hotel public areas
  • Changing kegs, keg coupler, beer tap maintenance and beer line cleaning
  • Receiving and dispatching of deliveries, transfer stock between the departments and between venues.
  • Stock control and stocktaking, ensuring stock control procedures in the cellar
  • Ensuring the continuous and effective functioning of equipment, utilities, auxiliary equipment and building facilities
  • Provide scheduled maintenance to all plant, equipment, and buildings to maintain a highly presentable workplace with operational equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs with reference to manuals, AUS standards, Regulations and Gem Hotel procedures. 
  • Maintain and file all records on preventative maintenance, repairs and services.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation and recording of all aspects of maintenance.
  • Asist with setting up functions and events 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Driver’s & Forklift licence essential
