About the role
The role of the Team Leader - Kernel is to ensure daily production targets and schedules are met in the processing plant. The role requires the team leader to support staff, provide training and high-level leadership. Reporting to the Production Co-Ordinator the role is responsible for ensuring smooth day to day operations with a key emphasis on continuous improvement and a focus on WHS and food safety requirements. This is achieved through the direct and indirect monitoring of the production chain from raw product to dispatch of finished goods. The role is thereby paramount to delivering food safety and high-level products to customers.

Duties include but not limited to
- Adhere to production plans and schedules, to enable on-time delivery of finished goods
- Ensure labour efficiency is met
- Monitor and review production, packaging and staff productivity to minimise waste
- Ensure Overall Equipment Effectiveness is monitored
- Ensure records and traceability of job lots are completed
- Positively contribute to Stahmann Webster's culture through continuous improvement
- Arrange and hold daily toolbox meetings with staff in line with our policies
- Induct and train staff in the Kernel area of production
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of WH&S
- Ensure risk and hazard assessments are completed on all areas of operation and updated regularly
- Maintain current operational and safety procedures for all areas of responsibility
- Review plant capability to improve efficiencies of operations
- Ensure quality assurance is met
- Ensure all Open / start up and shut down / lock up procedures are complied with

Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
- Keen interest in food production, quality and factory operations
- Prior experience in factory operations
- Ability to foster relationships
- Strong Communication skills
- Forklift Licence advantageous
